NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe has acknowledged he would stand no chance in a one-on-one contest with WNBA star Caitlin Clark. In his prime, Sharpe was one of the most dominant tight ends the NFL has ever seen. A three-time Super Bowl Champion twice with the Denver Broncos and once with the Baltimore Ravens, Sharpe was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame back in 2011

Since then, Sharpe has been heavily involved in broadcasting, appearing as an analyst for CBS and FOX whilst also entering the podcasting world with his Club Shay Shay and Nightcap podcasts. The latter of the two podcasts he co-hosts with fellow former NFL star Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson.
And on their most recent episode, the pair discussed whether Sharpe could score even one basket on WNBA star Clark, with the ex-Broncos tight end admitting he would stand no chance. “If you played Caitlin Clark one-on-one to 11 right now, do you think you could score,” Johnson asked Sharpe, clearly wondering whether the latter would talk up his chances. However, Sharpe immediately conceded if he wanted to be able to keep up with the Indiana Fever star, he would need to do so whilst sitting in a wheelchair. Sharpe replied: “Man, my knees, y’all have to roll me around in wheelchair. Man, I ain’t ran or did anything. Hell no!

He continued: “Man, when I squat, I have to come home and ice my knees. And you talking about running bound up and down on that hard-ass court? Hell nah, I can’t beat Caitlin Clark. I can barely beat Roy Clark, and he been dead 40 years.”
